Dr. Dunn Galvin (PhD, MSc, HDp, Reg.Psychol.) is a Programme Director at University College Cork (UCC), specialising in paediatric psychology, allergic disease, early years and medical education, and has a significant output of research and publications in leading peer-reviewed journals (>200 papers and chapters;>6000 citations; H-index 42). She is a member of several international Task Forces on the management of food and peanut allergy, including the development of guidelines by the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI), the World Allergy Organisation (WAO), and the Global Allergy and Asthma European Network’s (GA2LEN). These guidelines set out the recommendations for managing food allergy, based on the latest evidence and expert consensus. Dr Dunn Galvin developed and validated multiple Health Related Quality of Life (HRQL) measures for food allergy, recommended as gold-standard by EAACI and translated into 12+ languages. HRQL has widened the parameters of benefits & harms of AIT and allowed for development of outcome quality indicators. Dr Dunn Galvin has worked on AIT trials with Aimmune Therapeutics, DBV Technologies, and Imperial College London/Our Lady’s Hospital London (BOPI) and Melbourne Children’s Hospital (PPOIT) and co-leads the HRQL subgroup of the EAACI funded task force on Harmonization of clinical outcomes of efficacy in Food-AIT trial (Co-FAITH). Recommendations for the selection of outcomes of efficacy for future food immunotherapy trials will be made by the group. Co-FAITH is linked to the EU COST funded ‘Core Outcome Measures for Food Allergy’ (COMFA), where Dr Dunn Galvin is Core Management and WP (Patient Reported Outcome Measures) lead. Dr Dunn Galvin is a member or chair of multiple international societies, expert groups, and task forces including; EAACI Primary Care and Allied Health (Chair) and Anaphylaxis Ireland (CEO).
